Overview

Wellington Water Ltd is seeking Tenders for establishment of a Priority Rental Agreement (the Contract) of desalination plant (the Plant). A priority rental agreement is identified as similar to a timeshare agreement, where upfront consideration is provided to secure priority supply of desalination unit(s), within a certain timeframe, following an emergency in Wellington, New Zealand. In all other times, the Supplier is free to rent the Plant to other clients. Upon activation of the Contract in an emergency, Wellington Water will pay all normal costs associated with a rental agreement. The Supplier in turns guarantees a unit(s) will be available to meet the terms of the Contract.

The Plant is intended to support Wellington City, New Zealand in the days and weeks following an earthquake; through provision of treated drinking water. The agreement is to be framed around:

1. Supply and commissioning of a nominated desalination plant(s) and nominated supporting equipment (together, the Plant) to Wellington Airport, New Zealand, capable of producing a Minimum Combined Output of 1.2 Million litres of Treated Water per day.

2. Production of Treated Water from the Plant, at full output, within 20 Days of receiving a request to supply the nominated Plant provided the nominated primary airport is operating and able to receive aircraft.

3. Supply of trained operators, chemicals and other necessary parts and equipment to maintain continuous operation of this plant for up to 200 Days (the Period) at a location in Wellington City, New Zealand.
