A significant earthquake in the Wellington region may result in damage to the potable water network and could result in parts of the region being without potable water for long periods. To overcome this, the Community Infrastructure Resilience project was initiated by WWL. The goal of this project is to provide 20L per person per day of potable water within 1000m of their residence 7 days after an event.
One of the means to achieve this goal is by providing desalination water treatment plants to areas of Wellington City that do not have access to other alternative water sources.
This Request for Information is to identify suitable, experienced contractors who may be able to enter into an agreement with Wellington Water Limited to provide containerised desalination water treatment plants to Wellington in the event of an emergency.
