• Vehicle GPS: In early 2018 WorkSafe installed 25 Smartrak GPS vehicle tracking and monitoring systems into 25 of its pool vehicles. This has led to a desire to roll this capability out to the full vehicle fleet of ~225 vehicles. This is by an openly contested tender situation. This will ensure that WorkSafe selects the GPS solution that best meets its needs.
• Lone Worker Devices: In 2016 WorkSafe procured 50 InReach SE Devices for use in “out of cell phone range” areas which provided two-way communications and an emergency alarm system, use training, and on-going monitoring and reporting of usage.
This was awarded to Guardian Angel Security Limited. This contract was extended by 6-months to 26 March 2019 in order to consider the merits of a fully integrated solution or a separate but complimentary Vehicle GPS and Lone Worker solution under a Prime and Sub arrangement.
The purpose of this notice is simply to assist the market’s business planning by alerting the market to a planned procurement that is being prepared by WorkSafe and to give the market an outline of the requirements of the procurement and the likely date it will be advertised.
