The Wellington Regional Stadium Trust (WRST) invites qualified Respondents to submit proposals for the supply and installation of two new big screens at Sky Stadium.
WRST is a Charitable Trust, incorporated by the Wellington City Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council in 1997. It is the owner and operator of Sky Stadium, a 34,500 seat multi-purpose entertainment venue which is one of the most iconic venues in the Wellington and New Zealand sporting landscape.
Sky Stadium is predominantly used for sporting fixtures for various codes, but also caters for concerts, entertainment and cultural events, exhibitions, product launches etc. The venue hosts around half a million patrons each year.
Most events have attendances of around 10,000 and 20,000, however for two or three events a year (All Blacks test matches and concerts) the Stadium will sell-out.
In full concert mode with the field open to standing patrons the crowd capacity can reach 47,000 which was achieved at the Eminem concert in 2019.
Sky Stadium has a Membership and Corporate Box programme and currently has close to 1,200 Members and 31 licensed Corporate Boxes with just under 600 licensed seats. Members have exclusive access to three lounges on levels 3 and 4 of the Stadium (Member Lounges). The minimum term for Membership is two years. The minimum term for Corporate Boxes is four years.
In addition, the key code hirers of Sky Stadium (Hurricanes, Wellington Rugby (Lions) and the Phoenix) have their own, separate, Membership programmes. Members of these codes generally have exclusive access to four lounges on Level 2 (East, West, Pipitea, Aotea) and the codes also provide hospitality to their sponsors, stakeholders and VIPs in the three lounges on Level 3 (East, West, WRL) (all seven lounges together referred to as the Hospitality Lounges).
