This Request for Information (RFI) forms the first stage of a two-stage procurement process to identify suitably qualified contractors for the construction of repairs to storm damage on Te Whaiti Rd and Ruatahuna Rd within the Whakatāne District.
Contractors are invited to tender information in response to the requirements as described in this RFI. The information tendered will be used in an evaluation process to identify a short list of contractors. Only contractors appointed to the short-list will be invited to participate in stage two of this procurement process.
The type of works involved with these repairs generally comprise some, or all, of the following activities:
• Project management including appropriate health and safety, quality management, communications management, environmental management, and traffic management systems.
• Management and operation of sites in remote areas with no cellular service.
• Survey and set-out.
• Site clearing including vegetation removal.
• Earthworks including cut to waste, cut to fill, borrow to fill and benching in steep challenging terrain.
• Drainage works including culvert construction, inlet and outlet structures, kerb and channel, subsoil drains, and scour protection works.
• Gabion basket retaining walls.
• Sealed and unsealed pavement construction utilising locally sourced materials including brown rock and river gravels in conjunction with cement stabilisation.
• First coat chip seal design and construction.
• Reinstatement of traffic services including signs, pavement markings and other delineation devices.
