The Commissioning Board will, on behalf of Auckland DHB, oversee a strategy with an overall aim to transform mental health and addiction services that are funded or delivered by Auckland DHB for the purpose of supporting our population to live well, stay well, and get well. We are looking for people who have the ability to provide active leadership of a “whole of system” approach to meet the mental health and addiction needs of the Auckland population. A mixed approach will be taken to the appointment of the Commissioning Board that will include nomination of specific representation from Ngāti Whātua (number of representatives to be determined) and this Expression of Interest (EOI) process for other members. Final membership will ensure a strong DHB and community partnership.
Two key criteria for membership of the Commissioning Board are:
1. Sector credibility and confidence, with enough diversity to cover key perspectives, but with some weighting towards Māori and Pacific to meaningfully address equity
2. Governance/commissioning skills.
