Overview

The Waitematā DHB Regional Forensic Psychiatry Service is responsible for the provision of forensic step-down beds in the community. Step-down beds enable a safe and secure transition for Tangata whai i te ora back into the community.

We need a Kaupapa Māori residential step-down service for Tangata whai i te ora (individual seeking wellness: service user of Māori descent) that will provide clinically safe and culturally responsive support, supervision and rehabilitation, with the aim of working with whānau and communities, and other services, to ensure Tangata whai i te ora are integrated back into their community, culture and whānau.

Waitematā DHB is looking for credible Providers who have the capability, experience and infrastructure to:
• Deliver safe, effective, and appropriate accommodation and support for Tangata whai i te ora with complex forensic mental health needs (often including alcohol and other drug issues)
• Operate within a Kaupapa Māori framework.

The provider will be required to demonstrate their experience in delivering successful Kaupapa Māori services to Tangata whai i te ora and their whānau.
