Overview

Waitemata District Health Board is calling for Registration of Interest from organisations with expertise and experience to provide Building Services Design for a project at North Shore Hospital.

This project proposed is to develop a two level build consisting of a NS procedural suite on the ground floor and a 30 bed inpatient ward on level one. The building would be adjacent and connected to the existing Elective Services Centre (ESC).

The NS procedural suite and inpatient ward will increase capacity for:
• elective surgical theatre services
• elective endoscopic services
• inpatient beds

The NS procedural suite will comprise of five main service areas:
1. Reception and administration
2. Pre-assessment area (four consult rooms)
3. Procedure rooms (two general theatres and four endoscopy procedure rooms)
4. Recovery (primary and secondary levels)
5. Staff and service support areas (office space, meeting room, comms/hub room etc.)

There are also a number of service support areas that would be potentially shared with ESC existing services. These include the Central Sterile Supplies Department (CSSD), Inwards Goods, Anaesthetic Work Room and also potentially Post-Acute Care Unit (PACU) space (dependent on review of theatre schedule).

Waitemata DHB is inviting submissions from interested parties to provide Building Services Design for this facility at North Shore Hospital.
