Overview

H.1.2 Purpose of Contract
The purpose of this Project is:

The replacement of approximately 170m of existing DN150 AC wastewater main, commonly known as the Z-Line from 12 Park Street to 13A Tudor St (rear of the section), by installation of an adjacent DN 225 SN 8 PVC-U pipe. Replacement will include installation of manholes and lateral connections; and decommissioning of existing manholes and asbestos cement pipes.

A very high standard of reinstatement is required. Reinstatement of private property and landowner satisfaction is a key outcome desired by WDC.
It should be noted that the majority of this work occurs in the backyards of adjacent private properties. Although WDC has easements over all areas in which work is to occur, the rights of the owners shall be respected at all times.
The tenderers attention should be drawn to the very tight gradience and should account for this in their submitted methodology.
Copies of property easements will be made available on request.
There are buildings such as glasshouses and sheds built over the proposed working area. These will be removed if required prior to the start of the project. Removal of these structures is the responsibility of the landowner. Removal of these structures is outside the scope of this contract.
The Contractor shall make all arrangements with the property owners to protect all structures and surfaces. Plantings are to be discussed with the Engineer on a case-by-case basis. A Provisional Sum has been provided in the Schedule for moving, storing and/or replacing plantings.
There shall be no interference with, including but not limited to vibration damage, to adjacent structures.
