The contract is for the repair and upgrade work associated with the Milton & Others’ Stopbank that forms part of the wider Franz Josef Stage 2 project, co-funded between Central Government’s Regional Infrastructure Fund Flood Resilience Programme and the Franz Josef Rating District’s Local Share. The project encompasses all work associated with the repair and reinstatement of the existing stopbank as outlined in the drawings and specifications.
Council is looking for an experienced contractor with a proven track record and qualified staff who have relevant experience and suitably skilled personnel. They will preferably be locally based and be able to demonstrate their familiarity with all compliance requirements.
The selected contractor will be able to demonstrate a well-considered methodology and sequence for the delivery of the contract works whilst complying with the specified health and safety, quality and performance requirements for the project, including a thorough risk assessment and proposed risk mitigation strategies and controls.
This project will enable West Coast Regional Council to strengthen and improve resilience in areas that are vulnerable to weather events; and keep West Coast communities safe and accessible. It is a great opportunity for a contractor to work with West Coast Regional Council to safeguard local and regional communities; and further build their solid track record in climate resilience projects.
The West Coast Regional Council works together with the West Coast community to help make the region a fantastic place to live, play and do business. As well as managing the land, air and water resources of the region, we also co-ordinate transport and emergency management functions. We are committed to working alongside the community and our partners in a manner that is forward-looking, progressive and innovative.
