Franz Josef Township is a key national and regional tourism centre. It is impacted by two major natural hazards – the alpine fault line and flooding from the Waiho river to the south of the township.
The West Coast Regional Council, on behalf of the Franz Josef Working Group, Westland District Council, itself and central government agencies, is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers to undertake an analysis of the options for mitigating the hazards facing the town and providing a cost benefit analysis on the short-listed options. An indicative scope of work is set out in Section 3.
This work is to be used as the basis for agreeing the best option for the future of the township, its services and putting in place a plan to achieve the agreed option.
No Winner Awarded to Tonkin+Taylor at a price of $199,000 GST exclusive.
