Overview

Wellington City Council's CCTV and security systems are a crucial part of the broader security ecosystem at Council, supporting internal operations and benefiting our communities. These systems play a key role in keeping our city safe for residents, visitors and WCC staff, while also aiding emergency responders by providing valuable information for response efforts.
Currently, we manage over 900 cameras and 7,000 physical devices across various software and hardware platforms. These systems are decentralised throughout Council, and we are aiming to centralise them in order to improve efficiency and enable more strategic investment decisions in the future.

We are seeking to partner with a strategic business partner (or partners) to help us deliver and manage these systems more effectively. This partnership will support our goal of providing efficient and effective services to Wellingtonians while fostering innovation.

The scope of this RFP includes all CCTV and electronic security measures currently operated by Wellington City Council. These are detailed further in the RFP document.
Note: Non-electronic components of a wider security ecosystem are out of scope of this procurement. We have skilled safety and security personnel who will continue to advise the business on best outcomes for holistic security design. The underlying network is managed and administrated by Council, including cybersecurity. This is, and will continue to be, out of scope. We are also not currently seeking physical security services including guard services.
