Overview

Wellington City Council (Council) is providing advance notice to potential respondents that it intends to issue a Request for Tenders (RFT) for the provision of the refurbishment and re-roofing of the Newlands Park Pavilion.

Background
The Newlands Park Pavilion located at 216 Newlands Road provides changing room facilities to the various sports clubs that use Newlands Park sports fields. The building is in poor condition and the facilities are no longer suitable for its current and future uses. This project is driven by the changing needs of the various sports clubs to provide gender neutral facilities so that the facilities may be used by a wider range of clubs and teams.

The proposal is to refit and refurbish the interior of the building, by installing gender neutral shower and WC cubicles as well as carrying out structural upgrades to the building. The work will also include the replacement of the existing roofing with a profile metal clad roof, painting of the exterior of the building and external site work including bollards and external fencing.

Procurement Opportunity
The RFT will seek a Main Contractor to carry out the construction work.

The opportunity will be issued through the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) as an openly advertised, competitive Request for Tenders and is expected to be published in May 2023, with a closing date of approximately 4 weeks later.

The evaluation process, including the criteria and weightings, and anticipated sequence and timing of evaluation activities, will be detailed in the RFT.
