Towing Services

This Request for Proposals (RFP) is an invitation to suitably qualified suppliers to submit proposals for the provision of Towing Services on behalf of Wellington City Council (WCC).

The services include the following (but not limited to) removal by towing:
 Unlawfully parked vehicles
 Vehicles parked unlawfully on clearways in breach of the conditions of those clearways
 Vehicles parked in a manner that creates a hazard or obstruction
 Vehicles left on roads that have been, or will be imminently, closed or partially closed for events or roadworks
 Abandoned vehicles

The Service Provider will provide a facility for the secure storage of vehicles towed.

Scope of vehicles includes but not limited to:
 Cars
 Caravans / Campervans / Motorhomes
 Electric Vehicles
 Hydrogen-fuelled vehicles
 Motorbikes and Mopeds
 Trailers
 Trucks and other types of heavy motor vehicles such as buses/coaches
 Vehicles over 3.5 tons
 Vehicles that are not roadworthy (e.g. vehicles without wheels or with other significant damage)

This contract provides Supplier(s) the opportunity to partner with WCC for an initial term of 3 years (with up to two extensions of one year each - based on performance).

We are seeking credible Suppliers who have the capacity, capability, experience and infrastructure to successfully deliver these services for Wellington City Council.
