Wellington City Council is seeking to establish a pool of up to 10 Independent Resource Management Hearing Commissioners for the hearing of submissions and evidence on the Proposed District Plan.

The hearings are the opportunity for submitters to speak to their submission on the Proposed District Plan, respond to the recommendations made by the Council Reporting Officer, and for evidence to be provided in support or opposition to the proposals.

We are seeking responses from suitably experienced and qualified independent commissioners to hear and deliberate on submissions, ask questions, and make recommendations for the Proposed District Plan.

What’s important to us?

We want to hear from certified Independent Hearing Commissioners who can demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Resource Management Planning
• Resource Management Law
• Tikanga Māori
• Urban Design
• Landscape Architecture, or Architecture
• Ecological Matters
• Heritage and Character Matters

Whilst applicants must have the appropriate technical skills and experience, there is an expectation that Commissioners are able to display and deliver a high degree of empathy and professionalism in their undertakings and align with the values of Council.
