Wellington City Council (WCC) invites the submission of proposals for this Preferred Contractor Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) opportunity related to the Te Matapihi Central Library Seismic Strengthening and Refurbishment project (Project).
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work in partnership with the Wellington City Council and its team of consultants to successfully deliver the next stages of the seismic strengthening and refurbishment of Wellington’s landmark central library, WCC’s largest seismic strengthening and refurbishment project.
We are seeking to engage a Preferred Contractor who is excited by the Project, who has the requisite skills, qualifications and experience to provide the ECI services needed, and who is willing to work with WCC and its Project Team in a positive, collaborative manner to deliver a key WCC project that will bring vibrancy, and the people of Wellington, back into the heart of the city.
As the Principal WCC is seeking to engage a Preferred Contractor (along with the Preferred Contractor’s Key Sub-trades) initially through an ECI pre-construction services contract (ECI Agreement) to act as the Project’s Construction advisor and to assist WCC with input into the design that is currently under way for the Project, and subsequently to price for (and potentially complete) the construction works. The Key Subtrades that are required as part of the ECI process include:
• Façade
• Mechanical
• Electrical
• Structural Steel, and
• Temporary Works engineer
The term of the ECI Agreement is expected to be from January 2022 to June 2023, covering the design phases of the Project.
The Confidentiality Deed (refer Appendix A) and Statement of Suitability (refer Appendix B) must be completed and returned to our Point of Contact, and accepted by Council, to receive the documents outlined in section 2.5.2 of the RFP. Note that in the Statement of Suitability form, if you would like a One on One meeting you must formally request one prior to the dates those meetings start.
