Overview

The Waikato region has more than 16,000 kilometres of rivers and streams and WRC has the overall responsibility for their management including the effects of flooding and erosion. Well-managed streams and rivers benefit our region’s environment and economy.

The predominant area of our business that utilise physical works is our Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) Directorate. ICM provides services in relation to catchment management (including land management, biosecurity and biodiversity), river and flood management and natural hazard management. These all serve to provide security to the community against natural events (flooding, erosion, tsunami etc) as well as enhancing and improving our regional environment and the protection of our natural capital. The works we do contribute significantly to the economic well-being of our region.

Council are looking to establish a framework by way of an As Required physical works panel to enable streamlined and efficient procurement while providing access to capable suppliers who can support the delivery of our key outcomes and effective management of Council assets.

The panel will include suppliers delivering a range of physical works services. These works are engaged on an as-required basis. Accordingly, suppliers must demonstrate strong capability, appropriate resourcing, and robust health, safety and environmental practices. Refer to the RFP document for full details.
