The Waikato Regional Council (the Council) contracts pest animal control operations through its Priority Possum Control and HALO programs.
The Council is wanting to hear from preapproved contractors who are interested in the opportunity to undertake performance-based pest control for the following 12 Priority Possum Control Areas (PPCA) areas in 2026/2027:
- Otahu Farmland
- Port Waikato South
- Naike
- Te Akau
- Waingaro
- Mount Karioi South
- Honikiwi
- Waipa River Farmland
- Mokauiti 2 Farmland
- Mahoenui
- Aria
- Waikite Valley 2A
By successfully completing pest animal control contracts for the council, contractors will be making a contribution to the protection and enhancement of biodiversity, catchment integrity and production values within the region.

Proposals close at 5:00pm Monday, 6 April 2026.
