Waikato Regional Council invites tenders for Northern Canal Floodgate Capital Maintenance.
This Tender is for capital maintenance of the Northern Canal Floodgate outlet to the Awaiti Canal, located at the junction of Awaiti Canal Road and Awaiti West Road, Hauraki District. Once completed, the maintenance work will extend the life of the existing asset by 15+ years.
The works are to include, but are not limited to:
- cofferdam(s) and dewatering;
- no-dig regrading of the twin barrel culvert;
- re-support of the timber highway retaining wall;
- replacement of the sluice gates to Council standard design; and
- repair of defects within the culvert and head walls.
Attendance at a compulsory site inspection to be held at 11.00am, 29 October 2018 is important to us, to ensure that all Tenderers have seen the site, understood the hazards and issues associated with the site/project, and have had an opportunity to ask questions of Council’s Operations staff and Project Manager about the project. Tenders received from Tenderers who do not attend the compulsory site inspection will not be evaluated by Council.
It is anticipated that the contract will commence 20 January 2019.
