Overview

The Waikato Regional Council (the Council) would like to hear from native plant nurseries in the Waikato Region. We are compiling a list of nurseries who are available to supply good quality eco-sourced native plants to Council, landowners and groups undertaking restoration projects in the region. These nurseries can choose to have their contact details listed on our Waikato Regional Council website (www.waikateoregion.govt.nz), which will to help to put land owners and community in touch with their local nurseries as they undergo planting projects.

If you would like your nursery details listed on the Council website as a supplier of native plants in the Waikato region, please register your interest and nursery contact details with Joanna Nash at temirofarmecology@gmail.com before 01 December 2017.

Information about the Waikato Regional Council Native Plant Supply Programme
In addition to the Registration of Interest above, the Council will be running our annual Native Plant Supply Programme Request for Quote (RFQ) process. The aim of the RFQ is to identify and award contracts to native plant nurseries who can supply defined quantities of specific native plants in the following areas: North Waikato, South Waikato, Coromandel, North Hauraki, and South Hauraki. It is a requirement of the RFQ that nurseries are located within the area they supply to. The RFQ will be released in early November 2017. Please note: It is anticipated that the RFQ will not satisfy Council's total plant requirements for the 2018 planting season. Nurseries are encouraged to register interest in supplying plants via the Registration of Interest ROI process being undertaken in conjunction with the RFQ process (see above for ROI information).

Please refer to the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) website (www.gets.govt.nz) for the ROI information and RFQ information and documents for each area. The Native Plant Supply RFQs will also be advertised on the Waikato Regional Council Website (https://www.waikatoregion.govt.nz/community/whats-happening/tenders/). You must be registered with GETS in order to access the RFQ documentation, and to submit a response to the RFQ should you choose to do so. When registering with GETS, please ensure you choose the following categories: 70111500 - Plants and ornamental trees and 10152000 - Tree and shrub seeds and cuttings.
