Waikato Regional Council (Council) invites tenders for Reservoir Canal Pump Station – Inlet Bay Replacement.
Reservoir Canal combined pump station and floodgate is located at the corner of Awaiti Canal Road and Reservoir Canal Road, discharging water from Reservoir Canal into the Awaiti Canal. This historic pump station services a 970ha (approx) drainage compartment.
The pump station is programmed for an inlet bay upgrade to address the following issues:
• Health and safety needs improvement to reduce operator risk (walkways, hand rails, rotting timber boards, minimal work area).
• Screen corrosion below water level; and
• The twin sluice gates have operational and health and safety issues.
To address these issues a full inlet structure upgrade is necessary and the bypass sluice gates and operating mechanism requires replacement.
