The Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail is an important asset and key economic driver for the Waitaki District. Regular maintenance is required to maintain the asset and the Trail’s reputation. The Trail is a key visitor attraction as well as a safe cycling route and recreational asset for the local community.
The Trail supports a high number of businesses across the district and promotion of the Trail depends on the quality of the experience for cyclists of which the physical trail infrastructure and appearance is a key part of.
The Trail was used by more than 60,000 cyclists during the 2022/2023 season.
This contract is for inspection and maintenance services of the Waitaki District sections of the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail.
What we need;
Waitaki District Council wish to procure suitably skilled contractors that have the passion, experience, and plant to undertake a range of regular maintenance and repair tasks in accordance with the New Zealand Cycle Trail Design Guide (August 2019 5th edition) on the Waitaki sections of the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail.
The contract is broken into three areas:
Area 1 Ōhau Weir to Ōmarama
Area 2 Ōmarama to Duntroon
Area 3 Duntroon to Ōamaru
The respondent is open to supply a quote for one or more areas.
