CON No. 888/1. Alps2Ocean-Extreme Weather Event-Track Repair Works, July 2022

Details

a) Following the July 2022 storm event, the Alps to Ocean Cycle Trail (A2O) was assessed for damage to the track infrastructure. This resulted in the letting of two tenders. This one, CON888/1, is concerned primarily with the repair of the track, returning it to its original designed condition with some minor resilience work, such as upgrading of culverts. It is expected that the successful tenderer will be able to apply the most efficient solution to completing the required repairs. This includes the use of efficient, mobile teams that are able to relocate to the next work site with a minimum of cost and delay. Ability to programme and plan forward work, understanding requirements, such as TMP’s, awareness of possible services when working in the road corridor and worksite access prior to work teams arriving on site is important for success.

b) The second tender is CON888/2, primarily concerned with resilience works as well as some minor repair work in the vicinity of said works.
c) For a detailed SOW, please refer to the appendices.
d) Numbers in brackets generally refer to clauses in NZS 3910 for reference.
e) This is a Cost Reimbursement Contract (2.4). The target price of the works shall not exceed $240,000.00. This tender therefore weights suppliers highly who can provide evidence of value for money, including favourable rates, efficient planning, work methodologies and prior experience at being able to complete work of a similar nature safely within the target price.
f) The method of tender evaluation shall be Weighted Attributes (107)
g) Overview of the works as follows;
• Raising, surface repair and smoothing of track at the chainages as set out in the SOW.
• Repair and formation of new water tables as set out.
• Clearing, replacement and upgrade of culverts as required.
