The key objective of this procurement is to drill a new bore, develop both the newly drilled bore and refurbish the nearby existing bore. Then carry out a combined yield test, plus a draw down from both bores at the same time.
The known water bearing strata for the existing bore J39-0889 is between 153 to 156 metres below ground level. Council seeks to connect into the existing strata for the second bore.
When a stable and sufficient source of water is confirmed a chemical, radiological and bacterial analysis grab samples will be taken. The determinands to be analysed shall be as specified belowr:
• Full Chemical analysis that meets the Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules 2022 Table 16 (page 39), and is carried out by an accredited Lab. Council’s preferred accredited lab is Hill Laboratories
• Radiological analysis as per table 17 (page 39) of the Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules 2022, and is carried out by an accredited Lab. Council’s preferred accredited lab is Hill Laboratories
• Bacterial (E.Coli and Total Coliforms), carried out by an accredited Lab. Council’s preferred accredited lab is MedLab South Timaru for bacterial sampling.
•
Should it be confirmed that the bore is capable of sufficient quantity and quality, a sanitary seal (grout) will need to be installed 10 metres down the casing from ground level. The grout is to be finished to ground level so it can connect to a concrete apron (to be installed at later date).
