Supply of an Enterprise Service Bus Solution

Waikato District Health Board is looking to identify and select an Enterprise Service Bus which can be used to gather, transform and marshal clinical information around the organisation seamlessly and securely.

The successful solution will meet our increasing need for efficiency through re-usability and is a key enabler towards a local, regional (and eventually national) ‘Electronic Medical Record’.

It is important that the solution comes with out-of-the-box functionality/services which can be exploited with speed and ease by our developers. The preference (to support this with speed and ease) is that services are in context to both the health sector and applications which Waikato DHB already has in place.

Equally important will be the ability of the solution to address current limitations within the environment. Examples include:
• single message/file size
• limitations to volume of data which can be managed at any one time
• scaling to high availability
• disaster recovery, particularly automated failover

Waikato DHB requires this technical capability to build an enterprise class interoperability platform to meet emerging, and future organizational needs.

We do not want proposals outlining a bespoke designed solution AND we do not want a replacement for our messaging system, Rhapsody.

What is important is that the Waikato DHB eventually engages a credible provider who have the capability, experience and resource to provide us with the services and support that we need. We want a supplier with a good reputation and if possible would like to see Health experience.
