Waikato District Health Board (DHB) is looking to identify and select a Surgical Instrument Tracking System at its Hamilton campus and potentially other Waikato DHB sites that can be used to identify the location, usage, and maintenance of surgical instruments. The proposed system must have the ability to integrate with other Waikato DHB systems. The system, and associated scanning technologies, should also ensure adherence to instrument sterilisation standards and provide detailed reporting and full auditing control.
The system implementation is an important phase in a large programme of work to enhance operational efficiency and collaboration between Sterile Services, Theatre and Supply Chain functions at Waikato DHB.
It is also important that the solution proposed has minimal enhancement or variation from a vanilla solution.
