Waipa District Council is proposing to issue a Registration of Interest (ROI) for pre-qualification to identify contractors capable of delivering construction works associated with the following project stages:
Stage 1: Hautapu Road Urbanisation Works from Peake Road Intersection to 44 Hautapu Road (2025/2026 season)
• Site preparation works
• Construction and installation of cirtex soakage units
• Construction of stormwater reticulation network
• Upgrading of Swales
• Installation of water supply pipes
• Installation of wastewater raising main
• Improvements at the existing intersection of Hautapu Road and Allwill Drive, including:
✓ Installation of traffic signals and associated pavement widening.
✓ Pavement reconstruction in existing pavement areas within the intersection footprint.
✓ Utility service relocations required for the works within the intersection site area (Waipa Networks - undergrounding of powerlines).
• Construction of kerb and channels
• Pavement reconstruction
• Road signs and markings
• Streetlighting.
• Construction of shared pathway - Walking and cycling facilities at the intersection, including two signalised pedestrian crossing points.
• Completion, commissioning, and hand over.

Stage 2: Works from 44 Hautapu Road to the proposed roundabout at the SH1B Victoria Road / Hautapu Road intersection (timing to be confirmed)
• Site preparation works
• Utility service relocations within the roundabout site area (Chorus, Tuatahi First Fibre, and Firstgas).
• Construction and installation of cirtex soakage units
• Construction of stormwater reticulation network
• Installation of water supply pipes
• Pavement widening and reconstruction within the roundabout footprint.
✓ Dual circulating lanes.
✓ Cul-de-sac to maintain access to businesses located on Hannon Road.
✓ Intersection improvements at SH1B Victoria Road and Laurent Road.
• Construction of kerb and channels
• Pavement reconstruction
• Road signs and markings
• Streetlighting.
• Construction of shared pathway – These paths will connect to existing cycling and walking facilities at the roundabout and intersection.
• Completion, commissioning, and hand over.
