The University of Waikato is undertaking remediation of the existing precast concrete façade panels to STEM Blocks C to F at the University’s Hamilton campus (the Project). The buildings and façade panels are over 50 years old. The Project aims to safely remediate identified cracking, spalling and reinforcement corrosion, address locations where concrete cover is below the original specified requirement, reduce the risk of further spalling, and extend the service life of the façade panels.
