The University of Waikato will be facilitating face to face discussions using a Competitive Dialogue Process to investigate options for the design, financing, installation, and long-term operation of a ~2MW solar photovoltaic (PV) carpark array under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Energy Services Agreement (ESA) or other off balance sheet financing option.
This project supports our sustainability goals and energy resilience strategy while offering a long-term partnership opportunity.

Update on Competitive Dialogue Process – Solar PV Carpark Array Project
The University of Waikato has completed the Competitive Dialogue phase for the proposed ~2MW solar photovoltaic (PV) carpark array at our Hamilton campus.
Responses to the Invitation to Participate (ITP) were assessed, and shortlisted respondents progressed to the Dialogue stage. Respondents who were not shortlisted for Dialogue have been notified directly via email.
We are now moving to a closed Request for Proposal (RFP) process, which commences 05/09/2025 12pm. This next phase is by invitation only and includes a select group of respondents identified through the Dialogue process.
Shortlisted respondents who participated in the Dialogue phase but were not selected for the RFP stage will be notified in accordance with MBIE Rules and good procurement practice.
