The University of Otago is seeking to engage a suitably experienced and qualified consultant to assist in preparation of a Campus Master Plan for Otago University’s campuses
The University of Otago Strategic plan to 2030: Pae Tata, sets out five domains for action. In order to support the domains, enabler plans have been developed. Specific to this procurement is the places enabler plan which focuses on improving the University of Otago campuses.
The Places Enabler Plan priority is to take a strategic and responsive approach to campus planning. This requires the university to invest in a new Master Plan incorporating all campuses which better reflects the University of Otago’s Vision 2040, projected growth and the significant changes which the University has been making over recent years.
Key areas of focus for the Master Plan, aligned with Vision 2040 and Pae Tata, include:
* Data driven decision making aligning space with growth projections across the University
* Enabling the maximizing of student experience and learning, building strong local strategic partnerships, and contributing to the local community in all our national centres
* Clearly mapping the character and purpose of each of our national centres
* Providing priorities for the short-medium and long term for each of our centres
* Deliver what our communities (internal and external) need from our campuses
* A continued strong focus on space optimisation, aligned with Pae Tata
* An aspirational vision for the long term but grounded in the reality of affordability and purpose
The University of Otago’s most recent Campus Master Plan was completed 15 years ago and is no longer reflective of current strategy, planning or delivery of core services to our students, staff and communities.
The new Campus Master Plan process will engage widely with our communities (both internal and external) and the completed document will be communicated to the wider public, formally replacing the 2010 Master Plan. The proposed delivery of the master plan will be in June 2026.
