Tiaki Wai is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced engineering consultancy to provide civil
and geotechnical professional services for Stage 1A – Enabling works of the Porirua Wastewater Treatment
Plant Sludge Volume Reduction Project. This includes technical review and assurance of earthworks design,
geotechnical advice, construction monitoring, and support to ensure the works are delivered safely,
efficiently, and in alignment with programme requirements.
The services will support the establishment of a fit-for-purpose building platform for the future sludge drying
facility and must integrate with evolving design interfaces for Stage 1B. The consultant will be expected to
contribute across the full lifecycle of this stage (1A), including design development, risk identification and
mitigation, environmental and cultural compliance support, stakeholder coordination, and construction-
phase technical assistance. Delivery must reflect best practice, meet relevant regulatory and Wellington
Water (Tiaki Wai) standards, and be responsive to the constraints of working within an operational
treatment plant and a complex environmental setting.
