There are three passenger lifts at TVNZ’s Television Centre at 100 Victoria Street West Auckland. The lifts date back to the buildings original construction circa 1987. Lifts 1 & 2 are a duplex pair and Lift 3 is a simplex unit. Performance and reviews indicate that the lifts require modernisation meaning upgrade or full replacement. Two modernisation options (Option 1, Option 2) are being considered. In addition, following modernisation, TVNZ requires that the lifts be maintained. EITHER Option 1 Modernisation works – Lifts 1,2 & 3 are to be upgraded. The lift car, counter weight, rails and doors are to be retained but the remainder of the installation is to be replaced. OR Option 2 Modernisation works – Lifts 1 & 2 are to be fully removed and replaced with a new Machine Room less Lift. For Lift 3 the lift car, counter weight , rails and doors are to be retained but the remainder of the installation is to be replaced. IN ADDITION TO OPTION 1 or OPTION 2 MODERNISATION WORKS TVNZ REQUIRES post modernisation maintenance of Lifts 1,2 & 3.
