On the 9th of December 2024, Cabinet decided that the Treasury and KGC should engage with the market to test appetite and structure terms to source up to $500 million in capital from suitable New Zealand institutional investors and to revert to Cabinet in the first half of 2025 for approval to proceed to a formal offer.
The Treasury will provide advice to Cabinet on a set of potential market-tested transaction terms by mid-2025 (target May or June) for its approval.
