Overview

TRC’s Shareholders are the New Zealand Government and Auckland Council and is New Zealand’s first community based urban regeneration company. Our mandate is to lead the delivery of the Regeneration Programme of activities which are focussed on four equally important objectives – housing redevelopment, placemaking, social transformation and economic development.
Under its housing redevelopment objective, TRC has worked in partnership with Housing NZ since 2013. Housing NZ will remain responsible for procuring the next phases of the current neighbourhood redevelopments in Tāmaki until 31 March 2016. From 1 April 2016, TRC will lead all housing redevelopment in Tāmaki on land currently owned by Housing NZ.
Shareholders have mandated TRC to replace the current social homes with a minimum of 7,500 houses over the period of 10-15 years. The total number of rebuilt social homes will not be less than the number that exists currently (2,800). Through densification TRC will also oversee the development of an additional minimum 5,000 homes for sale to private homebuyers and affordable housing providers.
On 30 April 2015, the Government announced that the ownership and management of existing Housing NZ homes in Tāmaki (Glen Innes, Point England and Panmure) will transfer to the Tāmaki Redevelopment Company (TRC) by 31 March 2016. There are approximately 2,800 social houses currently owned by Housing NZ in the Tāmaki area.

CATALYST AND SMALL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
TRC now invites Expressions of Interest from experienced development partners interested in undertaking catalyst and small redevelopment projects and in being selected for a Panel of Suppliers to develop medium to high density residential property for small to medium sized projects.
