This RFP relates to the purchase and installation of replacement water chiller units for the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems at the Benmore HVDC Substation Pole 2 Valve Hall, Control Room, Lunch Room and General Office area. The RFP is closed to a panel of qualified and certified preferred suppliers. The location of the site works is 426 Loch Laird Road, Benmore 9412

The chilled water system is a part of the thyristor valve hall air conditioning plant used to control incoming air temperature and plays a vital part in maintaining the integrity of the thyristor valves. This chiller system is also vital to the control of temperature in the HVDC control and protection rooms, and the maintenance of stable temperature has an important influence on reliability and component life. The HVAC system for Pole 2 was upgraded in 2019. However, the Chillers were left out as it had not met its end of life during that stage due to the previous replacement around 2009.There is a redundant configuration of 2 chillers operating the Benmore Pole 2 HVAC system. We want to replace both chillers at Benmore Pole 2 to mitigate the risk of imminent failure of the overall Pole 2 HVAC system

This chiller replacement deliverables will comprise:
• necessary design and engineering work associated with the replacement
• replacement and upgrading of the chiller control systems and protection gear if required
• electrical switchboard improvements
• update maintenance practices to align with alarms and run times
• staff training and documentation
