Registrations of Interest (ROI) are invited from Architectural Designers interested in being short-listed as prospective tenderers for development of a concept design for the redevelopment of the Strathallan Corner Toilet Block in Timaru.

This ROI seeks to ascertain confirmation of your resource availability and pricing for the provision of a concept design for the toilet facility, based on the attached documentation.

In response to the growing need for accessible and sanitary public facilities, the overall project aims to design, implement, and maintain modern public toilets that cater to the diverse needs of the community & the anticipated visitor growth. Recognizing the importance of hygiene, inclusivity, and sustainability, the project outcomes also seek to align with the CityTown Strategic Framework & spatial design objectives for the Cultural Core. The proposed project will see the demolition of the existing public toilet block and the construction of a new modern toilet facility at Strathallan Corner in Timaru's central business district.The facility will consist of at least four separate, accessible Exeloo unisex toilet units, equipped with modern automation and accessibility features.

Whilst the wider spatial designs in the Strathallan Corner civic space must be considered in the design, they are not necessarily a dependency due to budget allowances for the toilets themselves. However a spatial concept exercise will need to be executed in order to rationalise a location for the new toilets that will not preclude any future civic spatial designs & installations.
