TDC needs to undertake a tree audit, of all trees within Council Parks and develop a risk assessment process to ensure we are delivering best practice for our tree assets, sustainably managing the trees to extend life and maintain health, while ensuring the environment is safe for park users. The outcome of this procurement process will:

- Identify all serious ‘at risk trees’
- Result in the development of a hazardous tree list to encompass higher risk status trees and trees TDC intends to remove
- Assist TDC in proactively managing key risk trees through development of a clear and defined auditing programme
- Provide a prescriptive direction on what monitoring will include and by whom
- Provide an understanding of TDC’s tree network through an accurate, up to date full tree inventory to capture data for future management.
- Result in the development and implementation of an online mapping and database system for tree monitoring and audits.
