Thames-Coromandel District Council with partnership with Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) delivering solar panel and battery systems for community buildings identified as potential Civil Defence Centres. TCDC is procuring solar PV and battery systems for selected community resilience sites (CR Sites) across the Thames-Coromandel District. It ensures alignment with EECA’s funding agreement and Council procurement policies and supports the delivery of energy resilience infrastructure to vulnerable communities.

Many vulnerable and rural communities within the Thames-Coromandel District (TCDC) have limited resources to effectively prepare for and respond to emergency events. This procurement initiative addresses that gap by supporting the installation of solar panels and battery storage systems at selected priority sites identified as potential Civil Defence Centres.
