Overview

Tauranga City Council (Council) is seeking proposals from experienced office furniture suppliers to supply and install the furniture for the fit-out of the new Library Community Hub.

The new Library and Community Hub at Te Manawataki o Te Papa will become a central gathering place for the people of Tauranga — a modern learning, cultural, and community destination that reflects the city’s identity and aspirations. As one of the cornerstone projects within the wider civic redevelopment, the facility will provide welcoming, flexible, and accessible spaces for reading, creativity, digital learning, community programmes, and public events.

TCC is looking to partner with a supplier who understands the time constraints of this supply arrangement and can work effectively within defined timeframes. Given the finite budget, responses should demonstrate a fit for purpose solution that represents value for money over the whole of life of the furniture items, including total cost of ownership.

The new Library Community Hub build will be completed 30 June 2026, and we are looking for a furniture supplier who can plan the delivery, assembly, and installation of the new furniture throughout the building, including the removal of all related waste. In the period from the 1st July to the 28th August 2026. The Wharf Street entry will be used for loading in all supplies.

The programme for this project is heavily constrained, and as such the chosen supplier will need to have strong relevant experience, local presence with appropriate resourcing during the fit-out period, flexibility to adapt to the programme, and have the ability to work nights and weekends if required.
