Overview

This RFP is issued by Tauranga City Council, referred to below as “the Buyer” or “our” or “we” or “us”.
We are offering this exciting opportunity to deliver Specialist Arboricultural Services across Tauranga City Council’s (TCC) boundary. TCC has decided to separate its current contract it into two separate contracts: Arboricultural Services and Specialist Arboricultural Services. This tender is for the Specialist Arboricultural
Services portion only. TC8/25 –Arboricultural Services Contract, is also out for tender and can be found on GETS.
Suppliers may make a submission for one or both contracts, however we will not be awarding both contracts to a single Supplier.
Tauranga City Council (TCC) has been recognised as a ‘Tree City of The World’ acknowledging its efforts to manage the city’s urban forest.

This opportunity is for the management and maintenance of all the trees within Tauranga’s higher profile reserves , in addition to the management of the notable trees growing on TCC land and private properties. The tree assets included in this contract are often large and maturing specimens that require a higher level of care than your street and general reserve trees; they require the care of a specialist contractor to preserve, protect and enhance their value for the future.

We are looking at partnering with a supplier who can provide advice to TCC and tree owners on the condition of trees within the ’significant Groups of Trees’, as defined within the City Plan. You may also be expected to carry out minor tree works. The exact number of trees within the groups is not determined however the level of service in these areas will be lower than the individual protected trees.

We will be shortlisting 3 suppliers to take through to a presentation process, from which our final evaluations will be made.
