Overview

Tauranga City Council are seeking an experienced and competent Contractor to carry out the renewal works of the Tauranga Waterfront northern seawall and construction of the new concrete shared pathway promenade which is adjacent to the seawall.

To qualify for selection, the Respondent must demonstrate acceptable capacity and capability, as well as acceptable methodology and risk mitigation measures for this contract for which the works comprise of, but are not limited to:

1. Northern Seawall

- Renewal of the existing seawall
- Upgrading the existing seawall to a living Rip Rap Seawall.
- Coastal protection including improved resistance to weather events (future proofing).
- Living seawall elements which will promote biodiversity

2. Shared Pathway

- Demolish and remove existing concrete pathway.
- Construct a new shared pathway which will integrate with the new waterfront identity under the wider Civic Redevelopment programme.

• Associated landscaping adjacent to the seawall, to improve the aesthetics of the designated area.

• Associated Civil Works, including but not limited to:
• Demolition of the existing Strand carpark.

• Disconnection of the existing service lines and provision of alternative service connections for the new Tauranga waterfront area.

• Provide a Traffic Management plan.

• Health & Safety procedures (SSSP).
