Summary of this RFT:

Tauranga City Council (TCC) is changing the way it delivers Open Space maintenance services to the city, by bringing the workforce used to deliver these services inhouse. To deliver these services, it is essential that the maintenance team have a depot to work out of.

The TCC Spaces and Places team, have been provided a site at 303 Matakokiri Drive, Tauriko. The site is approx. 5,400m2 and is a blank canvas with no facilities onsite. It is intended to develop some office and storage facilities onsite for the site to operate as a depot facility. This is an opportunity for a suitably qualified Civils contractor to build a relationship with TCC and complete the civils component of works for the site.

What we need

TCC is seeking a suitably qualified Civils contractor to complete the civils works and in-ground services installations. This includes the resurfacing of the site, installation of in-ground services, installation of security lighting and installation of the washdown bay along with its corresponding services.

The site includes a new asphalt surface which loops around the site shed and incorporates a washdown bay, new concrete surfacing for carparking for access to the office, meeting, and bathroom buildings, and the majority of the remainder of the site with new gravel pavement for other activities. In-ground services are required across the site to service the shed and the
office, meeting, bathroom buildings as well as the security lights and washdown bay.

Any building foundation works or works above finished floor level of the buildings are not included in this scope.

Programme is critical for this project. The new work crews are commencing on site on 1 July 2023 and require an operational base on this date. It is crucial that the contractor can work to this timeline.

Over the next 5 – 10 years TCC has a significant number of upcoming projects that will
require civil works. This project presents you with the opportunity to build a relationship with TCC and prove your ability to produce an excellent outcome.
