Summary of this ROI:
Tauranga City Council invites you to Register for the above contract.

Tauranga Moana is undergoing a period of transformation, with significant development planned within the city centre. This aims to reinstate Tauranga's City Centre as the civic, commercial, and cultural capital of the Bay of Plenty.

The Harbourside Walkway structure (Boardwalk) sits at the southern end of the Strand Reserve providing a pedestrian link from the Strand Reserve to the Strand Extension behind the Harbourside Restaurant.

This project provides the possibility of building a path from the parking lot to the strand extension along the foreshore that connects to a proposed pedestrian underpass. The route allows for shared use by pedestrians and cyclists and provides full access for elderly and disabled users in line with Tauranga City Council's (TCC) accessibility strategies, in addition to Access to the water, as well as the creation of a lovely view and a serene atmosphere for the users.

The existing structure is currently closed to public access at both ends of the walkway due to the overall condition being poor.

The proposed boardwalk is approximately 130 m long by 5 m wide and will be comprised of steel piles with a steel substructure and timber decking.
