The purpose of this Advance Notice is to inform suppliers of upcoming / release of the Opal Pump Station Construction and Wairakei pump station ECI opportunity.

This will be a two-stage process.

Opal Dr pump station is a key wastewater pump station in the Papamoa/Wairakei urban growth area, the existing pump station is at the end of its useful life and requires replacement. The new Opal Dr pump station will be located on a vacant site adjacent to the existing pump station. The scope of works include:

Piling to support the wet well and terminal manhole and ground improvement to support ancillary buildings and buried storage tanks

Wet well and terminal manhole structures to depths of 6.5m below ground

Construction of a generator building, control building, biofilter and 10 buried storage tanks

Realignment of the existing rising mains to connect to the new pump station

The duplication of the twin 1600 stormwater culverts where Opal Dr crosses the Wairakei stream

Landscaping within the pump station site and around the culvert site

The future Wairakei pump station is similar in scope to that of the Opal Dr pump station, but it is slightly smaller being a contributing pump station to Opal. We are looking to ECI as a way to collaborate with a contractor and the designer to deliver the best outcome at Wairakei given the challenging site it is to be located on.

The tender will be a two stage ROI/RFT process. Attributes of particular interest for the ROI phase are BIM capability, ability to deliver broader outcomes and collaboration. Relevant experience, track record and resources are also likely to be considered at the ROI stage.

The estimated value of the scope described above is $20M.

Indicative timeframes:

ROI anticipated to be released 18th October 2022. (on Tenderlink - www.tenderlink.com/tauranga) - free to register
RFT anticipated to be released 17th January 2023.

Project Commencement: May 2023

Project Completion: Dependant on outcome of ECI process.
