Tauranga City Council is undertaking this ROI along with Zariba Properties Limited for bulk earthworks and road construction along the future alignment of Te Okuroa Drive in Papamoa.
This ROI is intended to lead to a single RFT resulting in two construction contracts to be awarded to a single contractor.

The construction contract is for the extension of Te Okuroa Drive as a two lane road, a new roundabout adjacent the Zariba Property, two local road connections to the roundabout, a new roundabout adjacent the proposed Boulevard extention and a two lane road between the two roundabouts. Included in this contract is the construction of a Stormwater pond (Pond H) on the South side of the Tauranga Eastern Link, accessed via a Right of Way off Parton Road to be constructed as part of the works. The project generally comprises earthworks and road construction including stormwater, water and wastewater services.

The bulk earthworks contract includes earthworks within the Te Okuroa Drive designation and Stage 1 residential development area to achieve design subgrade levels for all roads and residential lots. The contract includes the formation of a stormwater swale and ponds and associated hydraulic structures to connect the development to the existing box culverts under the Tauranga Eastern Link.
