The work in the Emergency Department, Planet Sunshine, Ward 5 & ICU/CCU when complete will
provide environments to treat patients that have Covid-19. All work is internal and will be completed
with other contractors engaged directly by the Ministry of Health, these contractors will install Air
Handling units & Medical Gases.
Emergency Department - Convert 2 exiting rooms to N class negative pressure isolation rooms plus
an anteroom to service the isolation rooms.
Planet Sunshine - Convert an existing ward room to 2 N class negative pressure isolation rooms,
each area will have an ante room & ablutions with toilet & shower facilities
Ward 5 - Convert an existing office to a sluice room, install sink unit, hand basin and replace the
carpet with floor vinyl. Replace the existing double hung plastic entrance doors.
ICU/CCU - Install an aluminium screen complete with 2 double hung door leaves. Divide the existing
sluice room with aluminium staka doors.
Air conditioning & Medical Gases will be installed by others as part of the Ministry of Health Medical Gas & Airflow contract
