• Removal or abandonment of redundant stormwater infrastructure as required.
• Connections to the existing stormwater network.
• Trenching, excavation, backfilling, and reinstatement works.
• Road corridor reinstatement and associated site restoration works.
• Management of stormwater flows during construction.
• Traffic management within a live road corridor.
• The design has been developed to improve stormwater conveyance while avoiding adverse impacts on adjoining properties and existing services.

The Maraetai Road West works comprise improvements to the existing stormwater inlet structure and associated drainage assets. The works generally include:

• Removal of the existing damaged inlet structure.
• Construction of a new wingwall and grated stormwater inlet structure.
• Repair of identified defects within the existing stormwater network.
• Retention and protection of the existing 225mm stormwater pipeline.
• Excavation, earthworks, and reinstatement works.
• Management of stormwater flows during construction.
• Traffic management and maintenance of public access throughout the works.

SWDC is seeking an experienced contractor with demonstrated capability in stormwater infrastructure construction, traffic management, stakeholder management, and delivery of civil works within operational NZTA road corridors. The successful contractor will be expected to work collaboratively with Council and its design consultant, to safely and efficiently deliver the works while minimizing disruption to the community.
