Overview

The Hāwera Aquatic Centre is currently heated and ventilated with existing systems, which include both heat pumps and gas-fired hot water boilers. The systems currently do not function as intended, and the site is currently fully dependent on the gas boilers to provide all of the site heating. Part of the existing systems are at the end of their economic life. This opportunity is for specialist mechanical building services contractors to undertake the necessary remediation and renewal work.

We require a competent and capable mechanical building services contractor with an excellent track record who has the capacity, skills, and experience to be able to undertake complex renewal and remediation work within a live building environment. Suppliers need to have a good approach and methodology for the management and execution of the work and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider delivery team.
The contractor will be appointed as a Main Contractor and is expected to have experience in managing sub-contractors, including a builder for minor building works.

We do not want a contractor that can only provide part of the required services or is insufficiently resourced to undertake several work fronts simultaneously.
