We need to replace the current mass detector (triple quadruple mass spectrometer) with a single quadrupole mass spectrometer. The new detector will need to be compatible with the existing gas chromatograph (Model 7890 B, Agilent Technologies), MPS autosampler (Gerstel, distributed by Lasersan) comprised of Olfactory port, Large Dynamic Headspace, Thermal desorption unit, Pyrolysis unit, agitator, Cooling Injection system.

Mass spectrometry supports Scion’s research across multiple internal and commercial projects. Demand for qualitative characterisation of new biomaterials is growing and our GCMS capability is integral to delivery of projects that give value for New Zealanders.
