Overview

Scion is a Crown Research Institute (CRI), which is a government-owned company that carries out scientific research for the benefit of New Zealand. We specialise in research, science and technology development for the forestry, wood and wood-derived materials and other biomaterial sectors.

What we need
We want to procure a Thermal Gravimetric Analyser (TGA) that includes an autosampler to replace aged equipment in our Thermal Suite.

What we don’t want
We are not interested in equipment that is significantly greater than 900-degree operating range or has no cooling capability. We do not want to have to re-wire equipment to make it compliant and safe for NZ conditions.

What’s important to us?
It is important that the supplier has the relevant experience, performance and track record to successfully deliver the contract safely, on time, and meet our technical requirements. We are after a supplier that can maintain and support us to successfully operate the system over the lifetime of the asset and meet our broader outcomes of minimising waste and reducing emissions.

Why should you register your interest?
As New Zealand's premier research institute for forestry and advanced manufacturing, we've established ourselves as a world-class innovation hub driving technological breakthroughs with global impact. This collaborative environment, combined with strong government support for bioeconomic development, positions us well to assist in the transition to a circular bioeconomy, and assist industry to develop new materials and solutions.
